Attention Self-Advocates!
The North Central Virginia Community of Self-Advocates (COSA) Program was developed through a partnership between The Arc of NCV and Encompass Community Supports.
COSA provides opportunities for adults 18 & up with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock counties to connect through educational, social, and recreational activities facilitated by members of our local community!
COSA will enable individuals with IDD to:
- connect with others
- share experiences
- explore new opportunities
As a COSA member, you will receive weekly emails featuring events, activity links, welcome gifts, and more!
Birthday Club: Members are encouraged to share in the celebration by sending cards to COSA Members each month. When it’s your birthday, we’ll mail you your COSA Birthday Card Bundle!
Game Nights: Join us for fun-filled game nights with Bingo and other games! New COSA Members receive a Bingo board in their Welcome Packet!
Card Making: Join us monthly to make homemade birthday/holiday cards! Get new ideas to make fun cards for you family and friends!

Interested in becoming a COSA volunteer?
COSA Volunteers will lead programs on a one-time, weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly basis. During events, they will meet with COSA members to present information, lead activities, and/or guide discussions. The topics for different programs are endless! We want you to lead a topic that inspires you; baking, crafting, health/fitness, nutrition, etc. Zoom support will be provided by The Arc of NCV.
