The Arc of North Central Virginia is dedicated to building awareness, acceptance, and resources, enabling people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to live connected and meaningful lives in our community.

Are organizations, businesses, and individuals who support The Arc of NCV through monetary or in-kind donations.
How We Help
ArcConnect:
We provide 1-1 confidential consultations to help families connect with resources and navigate Virginia’s complex system of supports for people with IDD. Examples include support for accessing public assistance programs, the special educational process, or finding social/recreational opportunities.
Host Family Programs and Community Events:
Educational and social programs support offer critical information and build connections for people with IDD and their families. Some examples include Parent Cafes, Family Picnics, and Educational Forums.
Develop Local Resources:
Local directories, videos, and reference documents designed to assist families and professionals in navigating the systems of support, as well as to build community acceptance and awareness.
Partner with Other Local Organizations:
Partnerships with other public and private organizations in our area increases opportunities, optimizes resources, and broadens awareness of The Arc’s mission throughout our community.
Collaborate with Other Arc Chapters:
As one small chapter in the expansive Arc network, participating in local and regional Arc conferences, activities, and advocacy efforts amplifies The Arc of NCV’s voice on behalf of individuals with IDD, and increases its effectiveness as an organization.
